Here’s the black and white version with just the inks. I get caught up in the minutiae when I use ballpoint pen. It’s hypnotizing when you get into the crosshatching groove!

I’m really glad :iconfirstfruits: liked it, I always get scared when I draw people’s original characters or ultra beloved characters. I have a weird take on most things, so it’s a toss up whether people will like my interpretation sometimes.

Love this one. The composition and all the details, the expressions, the fact that it seems I've caught a glimpse of bigger story, all of it, very evocative.

No excuses, I saw it when I scanned it in. I was drawing and inking this on my lap on a pillow. So I screwed up on a few things because I didn't take a look at it level. Weak sauce, I know. I used to draw like that before I got my Ikea desk and would account for perspective skewing. Ultimately, I have nobody to blame on that but myself.

Thank you so much!!! I've been using ballpoint pens, primarily a Zebra F-301 for this. I've been channeling my love for things like Jojo's Bizarre Adventure when doing detail. This is the kind of stuff I used to try to do when I was younger but didn't have the capability to pull off, especially since I freehand without reference.

It's different than what I normally do, but I still feel I have a pretty individual approach to this.

Thanks again!!

Most artists don't want to over-share. They don't want their 'secrets' stolen. I can understand with some artists who have a specific style that's their primary means of support.

I probably give out too much information, but I change my weird style and materials so often there are few people who could really copy what I do.

I always appreciate your comments! Also, I'll try my best to keep posting things! I forget to post here sometimes, but I always post on my Tumblr: www.artgantuan.tumblr.com

Oh Evan, in NO WAY they could copy what you do. Also, like I said, you're a professional, if someone really copies is due to fan art :D And of course, I already followed you on tumblr. THanks! THere seems to be some kind of weird fan-mass going on for tumb, and they hardly visit blogs or deviants anymore cx So I'll play along too ;) Besos!
