Great work! I love the colors and composition very much. The thin part of the question mark is the only thing that bugs me, though it's not much of a problem. I like how the smoke is outline in a different color. Really separates it from him. Love your style!

Um...wow? Really, I take that as a huge compliment! Thank you!! I'm using a .7 lead. I've always used either a col-erase pencil which I got annoyed with on sharpening, so I'd lose clarity in the sketching process. Or I'd use a .5, which was too small and would snap. But now I'm using .7 with some Japanese pencil leads, which holds up with my speed. So I'm getting more volume out of the shapes and general fluidity.
Thanks about the gradient too! I really don't like to over-render my pieces, I think that a well placed gradient with the right color combination...though simple in theory, is actually intricate enough to hold the viewer's attention and convey the proper emotions.
